I am so sorry to hear this. AJ was my training officer when I went into the Detective Bureau back in 1987. He was a fine man, and a pleasure to work with. I have good memories of both him and Melvin. Your family is in my prayers...

- Tony Parrott

Our warmest sympathies goes to you and yours in these difficult moments. May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.

I had the opportunity and pleasure working with AJ. in the criminal investigations division of the Durham Police Department. Sergeant Carter was instrumental in guiding and assisting me. I appreciated and depended on his expertise on a daily basis. He so often proudly spoke about his faith and family. I pray GOD'S peace and comfort flow over the entire family.

Our condolences to you, Beverly, Jeremy, Alesha and family. Cousin AJ Carter was a spiritual and loving man. I Loved AJ liked I loved my father, who also passed away this year. AJ was real to me. He kept it real with me- He would say to me'You have to love Gawd! ( It was the way he would say it with a smile) Because AJ really loved God. May 30th I texted AJ- How are you doing? AJ texted back- Hey Larry Jr. I am holding on. Having a few medical issues but God is in control. How about you? Alvin See, AJ was concerned about others and that was a beautiful quality he had and lived. So my dear Family, keep thinking about AJ and keep your fondest memories of AJ in your hearts and share them with others. The Bible gives us this hope in John 5:28, 29 'Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life,...' We will miss AJ but he will not be forgotten. May Jehovah God be with you all as the God of all comfort, comfort you today, tomorrow, weeks, months, years until we see Alvin 'AJ' Carter again. We love you all The Carters- Larry Jr and Tina

I am very sorry for the recent loss of your dear loved one, Mr. Alvin. I have a brief encouraging message I would like to share with you from the Bible. The Bible can be a great source of both comfort and hope during this most difficult time in your lives. For an example, at Revelation 21:3-5 it assures us that the day is soon coming when our most loving Heavenly Father is going to wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes and that even pain and death will be no more. I hope after reading this it will be of some comfort to each one of you. If later you would like to learn more from the Bible about why we die or why does a loving God allow so much suffering and injustice, please feel free to go to the website: www.jw.org to find satisfying answers.
