Mrs. Ollie Marie Allen Ruffin, daughter of the late Ollie Pearl Allen and Walter Thomas Allen Sr. was born on February 24, 1950, in Augusta, GA. She became a member of Crawford Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age. Later she joined the Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church of Augusta, GA., to be close with her sister Ella Lewis.
Ollie Marie was married to the late Eddie Ruffin. She had one son that proceeded her in death Fred Lee Allen. Sisters: Edna Allen-Jenkins, Ella Allen-Lewis, Brothers Fred Lee Allen, Walter Thomas Allen Jr. and Lester Phillips Allen Sr. Mrs. Ollie Marie Allen Ruffin graduated in 1968 from the Historic Lucy Craft Laney High School.
Ollie had a diverse of hobbies, especially enjoying bowling and spending time at family gathers. Ollie took pride and family and living her life and having fun. She was a proud member of the Shining Star No. 84 Order of the Eastern Star District 16 Augusta, Georgia. “David and Sarah” Smooth Ashler Grand Lodge. She was a dedicated member of the Usher’s Union of Georgia, and the served as the president of the Usher Board at Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church. Ollie was a member of the Red Hat Society of Hephzibah, GA. She was a member of Women of Courage Sisterhood Nonprofit Organization. Mrs. Ollie retired from the Medical College of Georgia in 2000 after 30 years of service. She was known for her outspokenness, nurturing, passionate, and a family woman.
Her legacy includes four granddaughters Kesha Allen of Grovetown, GA., Kenesha Allen Daniels of Martinez, GA., Tynesha Allen of Tallahassee, FL., Tisha, Allen of Augusta, GA., and one grandson Tre’von Allen of Denver, CO. Two great grandsons, Dashaun Dixon of Grovetown, GA. and Kingston Williams of Martinez, GA.
Her family includes two sisters, Barbara and Jackson of Augusta, GA., Rosemary Marshall of Martin, GA., and one Sister-in-law Wilhelmina Allen of Augusta, GA. One brother Michael, Jerome 88 Allen, and One brother-in-law Willie Lewis.
Always a caregiver Dorothy Hynson, and a close friend Lucia Williams. She leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, 1556 Maple Street. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park, Grovetown, GA. The family will receive friends 4 pm to 6 pm Friday, the 24th at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
