Monki Terrell Ray of Augusta, GA departed this life on April 16, 2026. He was born April 16, 1976, in Milledgeville, GA to the late George Willie Ray and Berean Hall. Terrell was baptized and became a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ.

Terrell was a graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1994, and later attended Florida State, receiving a degree in Business.

He was the owner and operator of Ray’s Alternative Roofing and Construction, LLC. It was his lifelong passion.

Terrell loved spending time with his family, traveling, and simply being outdoors. Whether it was cutting grass or building things, he found joy in working with his hands. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife gardening and planting flowers. He loved music of all kinds and cherished relaxing, laughing, and talking with his family about plans for the future.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Willie Ray; his mother, Berean Gilbert; and other family members.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Ray; three children, daughter Amelia Ray and two sons, Jacques Rogers and Jordan Rogers; two brothers, Reco (Rita) Ray and Maurice (Olivia) Ray; aunts, Jonnie Neal, Patsy Hayes, Erma (Melvin) Barnes, Evelyn (Melvin) Hogan, Ruby Barnes, Debra Turner, and Sarah (Leon) Samuels; uncles Joseph Hall, Leroy (Elaine) Hall, and Roscoe Hall; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Jean (Sammie) Porter, Cynthia (James) Quarterman, and Pamela (Milton) Rogers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
