MISSIONARY EVERLIN SALENE WALKER COUCH ROBERTSON, daughter of the late Frank and Lou Etta Green Walker was born November 4, 1946 in Baskerville, VA and departed this life April 24, 2026, at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, Augusta, GA. She was also preceded in death by her husbands- Tyree Couch of Chase City, VA and Eddie Robertson, Sr. of Kenbridge, VA; sisters- Martha Brock, Mary Jane Walker, Effie Farrar, and Rosa Baskerville; brothers- Andrew, Thomas, and Moses Walker and Norris Towler.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Concord Baptist Church in Chase City, VA. She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church Choir and the Usher Board and she also was a member of the West Hill Baptist Church Missionary.
Everlin attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Her community affiliations included being a proud member of the Mecklenburg County Bus Drivers Association and she was a driver for the County for over 23 years. She received several Virginia School Bus Safe Driving Awards, Outstanding Bus Driver Award, Bus Driver of the Month Award, Certificate of Appreciation from the Mecklenburg Education Association for outstanding contributions to the students and staff of Buckhorn Elementary for being a true friend of public education. Trusted and beloved by both, parents and children, who rode her bus. She was the last surviving member of the “The Golden Girls” Social Club.
Everlin was a proud and devoted bus driver who strived to motivate and encourage her students. She always gave her students gifts and goodie bags for their birthdays, holidays, and recognition of honor roll and good behavior.
Everlin was an avid reader and she would spread the good word by sharing Bible verses from the Jesus color by number apps. She loved tending to her flowers.
Missionary Everlin’s correspondence and hospitality ministry was sending greeting cards (birthdays, anniversaries, encouragement) to friends, family, loved ones and anyone she met. She wanted to add a little joy and a smile to other people’s world. She gave to many charitable organizations, such as Muscular Sclerosis, Diabetes, American Heart Association and many others.
Everlin leaves to cherish her memories: a son- Ray (Regina) Couch, Sr., Sandston, VA; a daughter- Linda Couch, Grovetown, GA; three grandchildren- Raven Stewart, Danville, VA; Ray Couch, Jr., Sandston, VA; and Maikel Couch, Grovetown, GA; great-granddaughter- Nilah Stewart, Danville, VA; sister-in-law, Francis Faison, Baltimore, MD; devoted nieces- Gladys Tanner, LaCrosse, VA and Faye (Ernie) Nichols, Altamonte Springs FL; bonus children- Eddie (Lena) Robertson, Jr., and Shirley (Charles) Lee, all of Kenbridge, VA; three very dear friends- Diana Wood, Priscilla McFail, and Kelly Crutchfield all of Chase City, VA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
