Mr. Orthor Lee Barksdale was called home to Glory on Friday, February 22, 2019 leaving behind all of the imperfections of his earthly body, all the demands and all the commitments of this world. Orthor Lee was assigned to earth on the tenth of August, 1962 to the parentage of Mr. Ollie Barksdale, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Barksdale.

He was a product of Newberry County schools. As an adult Orthor Lee made his home in Clinton, South Carolina and was a member of Mount Zion Progressive Church of Jesus in Gray Court, South Carolina.

Orthor Lee Barksdale was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves indelible memories upon the heart of: his beloved son, DeMarcus Le’Owen Barksdale, Sr. of Columbia, South Carolina; four precious grandchildren: D’Undre Barksdale of Columbia, South Carolina, DeMarcus Barksdale, Jr., of Jenkinsville, South Carolina, Jamyia and DeMariona Barksdale of Newberry, South Carolina; five loving siblings: Hannah Lee (Willie) Hill of Laurens, South Carolina, Rufford Jones of Clinton, South Carolina, Ollie (Priscilla) Barksdale, Jr. of Shelby, North Carolina; District Elder Levester (Benita) Jones, Sr. of New London, Connecticut and Angelo (Sharon) Barksdale of Raleigh, North Carolina; six cherished aunts: Daisy Rice, Elizabeth Young, Margaret Miller, Annie Mae Richardson, Lela Rice and Viola Chambers all of Clinton, South Carolina; two special nieces: Teresa Hill of Laurens, South Carolina and Victoria Nelson of Charlotte, North Carolina; devoted caregivers and friends: Sabrina Moore and Jaye Neaderhiser; as well as many other close relatives and friends.

There will be a happy reunion in Heaven when Orthor Lee sees his Savior and the many loved waiting there for him. May you find Peace in God’s arms.
