He is survived by his wife, Gladdie Banks Preston of the home; one son, Roderick Henderson (Gwen), Garner, NC; three daughters, Alix Preston, Charlotte, NC, Allison Darden (Jeff), Pollocksville, NC and Adrian Woodard, St. Mary's GA.; one brother, George Preston (Peggy) Ardmore, PA; three sisters, Jean Matthews, Washington, DC, Shirley Harris, Norfolk, VA and Carol Gray, Fort Washington, MD; nine grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two honorary grandchildren.
