Obituary For Estelle Gardner Dunn

Estelle Gardner Dunn was born on December 8, 1947 to William Gardner and Esther Gardner in Gibson, Georgia. God saw fit to bring her home on Friday, February 22, 2019.

She graduated from Lincoln Park academy in 1966. Estelle went on to get her degree as a Registered Nurse from Indian River Community College and worked in the profession for over 20 years at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, raising young nurses and Certified Nursing assistants behind her. After retiring, she went on to work part time in senior nursing facilities across St. Lucie County to continue sharing her skills and life lessons.

Estelle spent many years with James Gibson traveling the world and making memories. She visited the White House, the Governor's Mansion, attended art shows, met Shaquille O'Neal, and many other people who helped shape the way she thought and felt about life and the world.

She was an active member in the community being a devout member of Philos an affiliate of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the Heroines of Jericho, and the Council on Aging. She was a member of 13th Street Church of God, Greater Faith since she was a child. After many years of devotion, she became a member of the Senior Usher Board and the Secretary for Noon Day Prayer.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Missy and Equilla Dunn of Fort Pierce, FL, George(Javon)Dunn of Tampa, FL and Kelvin Dunn of Tallahassee, FL; Grandchildren, Dene(LeRoy Jr.)Matthews of Stone Mountain, GA, Dean Stokes, Jr. of Tampa, FL, Andre, Kaitlyn, and Aleaha Dunn of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Nikita Dunn of Fort Pierce, FL; 8 Great-Grandchildren/2 Great-Grandchildren, Danaja Stokes, Bryce Matthews, Carter Stokes, Delilah Stokes, Demir Stokes, Jayvion Stokes, Dylan Matthews, Alyson Matthews, Jamiah Pittman, and Anya Brunson; 6 Sisters, Helen Smith, Patricia Gardener( Pat Brown), Joy Thompson, Jewel(Jesse)Hough; 2 Brothers, Earl(Ruth)Gardner and Darryl Thopres, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.

Public viewing for Estelle Dunn will take place on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral Services will convene on Saturday, March 2, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm at 13th Street Church of God in Fort Pierce, FL.

Estelle's Family, I am truly saddened to hear of Estelle's transition. I met her 19 years ago when she and James attended my rehearsal dinner and wedding. I will forever have loving memories of her.
