Victoria Charnel Burris

Passed 05/08/2026

Victoria Charnel Burris was born the second daughter to Jenene and Maurice Burris on February 27, 1986, in Tampa, Florida.

At 20 months old, the Burris Family was reassigned to Ramstein Airbase, Germany. At six years old, her family was relocated to Loring Air Force Base, Maine, and then Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, where as a young girl, she was baptized at Victory Tabernacle and sang in the youth choir.

After leaving Missouri, her family moved to Tallahassee, Florida, and found a new church home at Life Deliverance Ministries where she continued to sing in the youth choir. She also joined the youth praise teams and became active in the youth department.

Victoria attended Cobb Middle School and Chiles High school. Although she hated to sweat, Victoria tried her hand at basketball, softball, and powderpuff flag football. Art, drawing, reading, and fashion were her true passions.

Victoria was a hard worker, holding many jobs from the time she was old enough to work. After moving to Savannah in 2018, she was employed with Vaden Chevrolet. Joyous and outgoing, Victoria was the life of the party and always set the atmosphere. People enjoyed being in her presence because her genuine love and care radiated wherever she went.

Daughter, sister, friend or whatever role she had in anybody’s life, she made sure to live up to it. Victoria was an amazing mother to her son, Simon. She was definitely a hands-on mom involved in Simon’s love of all things sports. Victoria recognized that her son had a gift and she quickly became a team mom, traveling with the teams for all games and assisting wherever needed. Simon loves his mother and considers her his best friend. When asked his favorite thing about his mom, he replied, “everything.” As mother and son, they were each other’s world.

Victoria’s spirit will always remain with her beloved son, Simon, a.k.a. “Boobie”; devoted mom, Jenene; father, Maurice; and her ride or die sisters, LaRita, Christa, and Jessica. Her nieces, Kaniya and DeeAnna, will truly miss their “TT.” Victoria‘s memory will also be cherished by her paternal grandmother, Rita Hosch; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that are her family.

Victoria also had the pleasure of creating lots of beautiful memories with her special beau, Derrick.
