Theresa Guthrie

Ms. Teresa Darnell Guthrie was born December 17, 1962, in Franklin, Tennessee to Luzell, Sr. and Mary Watkins Smith. Teresa was called to enter her eternal home Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Teresa accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Lebanon M.B. Church. As an adult she became a regular attendee of Inner-City Ministry.

Teresa was educated in the Metro Nashville Public School System and was a graduate of Bailey High School. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family dearly.

She was employed by Napier Library under guidance of Ms. Nicole V. until her health began to fail.

Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Guthrie, beloved parents, Luzell Sr., and Mary Smith, Rebecca Mayes Smith, George and Louise Watkins, sisters, Debra and Joyce Smith, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Teresa leaves to celebrate her homegoing and cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Katie Smith, sisters, Addie Smith, Audrey (Eric) Mapson, brother, Luzell (Gladys) Smith, aunt Pearleen Watkins, and a host of other family members and friends.

Teresa will be truly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
