Wanda H. Pritchett, at the age of 69, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2026.

Wanda lived a sacrificial life; a life devoted to serving her family, friends, and her community. She continually exemplified selfless love by giving herself daily and not asking for anything in return. For those that God allowed her to encounter, she will always be an expression of Christ’s love.

Wanda was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and was a beloved daughter of the late Walter Hughes, Sr. and the late Agnes Brown Hughes. She was the loving sister of the late Leroy Hughes and is survived by Florinda Morgan, Darlene Hughes Miller and Walter Hughes, Jr. She was the treasured mother of Teleshia W. Pritchett, Tiffany S. Pritchett and Daryl L. Pritchett, Jr; all fathered by Daryl L. Pritchett Sr. Wanda cherished and loved being the grandmother to ILennox Watkins-Rainey Pritchett and Sing L. Watkins-Rainey Pritchett. She loved and is survived by aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wanda was a woman of family.

Wanda was a highly accomplished and solution driven executive with thirty years’ experience. Mentored by her father, Wanda was the President/CEO of Wal-Field Management and Services, along with her sister, Darlene Hughes Miller (Vice President of Operations). Wal-Field Management and Services grew out of a family-owned janitorial cleaning business which dates back to 1954. In 1991, after the reorganization of Wal-Field Corporation, Wal-Field Management and Services opened for business specializing in commercial, federal, and state agency contracting for professional janitorial services. Wanda was the founder and Senior Consultant of WP Concepts &Associates (WPC). Through WPC, Wanda provided services in business and organization development, project management for church building projects, mentoring and coaching, managing conferences and events, as well as speaking and presenting workshops. Wanda was a Partner with Wal-Field Group which provided construction and renovation services to churches, school districts, and colleges. Wanda served on several business association boards.

Wanda received an Associate’s Degree in business from Harrisburg Area Community College and University of Phoenix. She was sponsored by IBM and attended their national Executive Minority Training Programs in New York and Atlanta, Georgia. Wanda was the first African American woman to serve as Chairperson to the Regional Minority Purchasing Council of Central PA. She was also a nominee for the Department of Commerce USDA.

Wanda was an author. She was one of approximately twenty-five authors for the book “Power of God” (The Professional Woman Network). She also authored “Seeds of Betrayal: Living a Triumphant Life.”

Wanda accepted her ministry calling and was licensed as an Evangelist in 2003 through General Assembly Church of God in Christ. She received ministry training from American Association of Christian Counselors, Center of Religion and Health (Hershey Medical Center), Penn State Kiesinger Health System, and Marilyn Hickey Ministries. As founder of Wanda H. Pritchett Ministries, she believed God used her in supporting the visions of leaders in ecumenical and secular circles. She was a faithful member in the body of Christ. Under the leadership of Elder Carl E. Hines, Jr. at Shiloh Church of God in Christ, Wanda was the Chairperson for the building project, the Secretary for the Evangelist and Missionary Board, a Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. Under the leadership of Pastor Roland Caldwell, Jr., Wanda was a member and worshipped at The First Baptist Church of Steelton until the Lord called her home.

Wanda was exceptional. By the grace of God, she touched and impacted many lives. She lived her life with her eyes set on Jesus.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:1-2a

Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in the Sanctuary of The First Baptist Church of Steelton, 1850 S. 19th Street, Harrisburg with viewing and visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
