It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Willie James Burke Sr.

Willie James Burke “Baby” was born on April 9, 1960, in Tallahassee Florida to the late Mozell Burke. He attended local school in Leon County. He went on to become a Semi- Trucker driver and drove over the road for many years. He also worked as a mechanic, which he enjoyed.

Willie was preceded in death by his mother Mozell Burke Hester, Stepfather Willie Hester and his son Carlos Burke. He leaves memories to be cherished by his sons Darnel Burke, Christopher Whitaker (Jennifer) and Willie Burke Jr., his daughters Nikita Alabedkamel and Courtney Burke, his grandchildren Gia’Vonni Burke, Kayden Thompson, Chassity, Christopher, Carlaya, Caidyn and Malik Whitaker, his brother Joe Mitchell Jr (Felicia), and a host family members and devoted friends including Victoria Burke.

Memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Strong & Jones Chapel.
