Memorial service for Claudia Cassandra Elston 63, will be Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 1 pm at the Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Elston passed away on May 17, 2026. Mrs. Elston accepted Christ at the Praise Temple Ministry. She graduated from Anniston High School in the Class of 1980. Her passion was helping others in need and those battling/recovering from drug/alcohol addiction. Her love for helping people pushed her to attend college to become a certified Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor. She started a mentoring program " A WAY OUT DAY PROGRAM" where she mentored young women on how to navigate through life crises and become leaders in society. She also partnered with different organizations such as PUBLIX and 2nd CHANCE INC. to be able to feed and clothe the homeless and the community. In her earlier years she was a known hairdresser and owner of 2 hair salons named " MAGIC SCISSORS" and " MAGIC FINGERS".

Survivors include her husband: Don E. Elston; her children: Lakesha Williams, Marquitta Williams, Earnest (Lisa) Williams, Latoya Windham; her grandchildren: Jaylan, Justin, Jordan, Ayonna', Kanadre, Kalayshia, Khamarri, Xzavier, Azaria, Zion, Zoey, Demontez, London, Demonta and 6 great grandchildren; her sister: Denise (Randy) Davis; her brothers: William Jimmy (Helen) Bush, Clifford (Sherry) Bush; her cousin/best friend: Alethea Smith, and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William O. Bush and Helen J. Williams, brother, Thomas Williams, her daughter: Tamekia L. Williams, grandsons, Keviontae J. Williams, Jaxon R. Windham, her great grandson, Greyson L. Williams, and her longtime companion, Sanders Brooks.
