Leonville, LA – A Homegoing Celebration will be held for Mr. Antoine “Joe” Auzenne, 82, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home 907 N. Market Street, Opelousas LA 70570. The wake will be held from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM, with Rev. Ford officiating. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM.

He will be laid to rest at Serenity Memorial Park 7352 Highway 31 Opelousas LA 70570.

A native and resident of Leonville, Antoine “Joe” Auzenne entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his residence.

Joe, as he was affectionately known, was a loving brother, uncle, and a great friend to everyone he encountered. He was a retiree of Coastal Pipes in Lafayette, LA, and was known for his kindness, warmth, and willingness to help others. He was also a musician who played with many Zydeco Pioneers.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted brother, Joseph Arthur Auzenne of Leonville, LA; one sister, Gloria Williams of Loreauville, LA; brother in law, Donald Guidry, Sr of Opelousas, LA; a nephew and niece who he reared as his own, Isaiah Charles of Leonville, LA; and Terry White of Fayetteville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominique Auzenne and Hilda Payne Auzenne; five brothers, Alvin Auzenne, Andrew Auzenne, Frank Lee Auzenne, Peter Auzenne, and Paul Auzenne; and three sisters, Marilyn Guidry, Celeste Charles, and Theresa White.
