Today, we come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Latrala Flounory Arnold. A woman whose strength, compassion, resilience, and love left a lasting mark on everyone blessed to know her.
Latrala was born on July 10, 1958 to Johnnie Mae Flounory, and the late A.C. Flounory. Early on in life, she joined the St. James C.M.E Church, where she began building the faith that would help guide her throughout her life. She was educated in the Thomas County School System. Mrs. Latrala Arnold was never a stranger to hard work. She worked faithfully through many seasons of life – whether in factories, housekeeping, caregiving, or simply caring for those she loved. No matter the task, she gave it her all. She carried a quiet strength that spoke volumes, and she showed us what perseverance looked like.
Latrala also enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved sitting down to watch her westerns stories filled with grit, loyalty, and strength – qualities that reflected so much of who she was herself. She found joy in laughter, conversation, and simply being surrounded by family.
Though life brought its share of trials, she continued to push forward with grace and determination. Her legacy is not only in the work she did, but in the love she poured into others. The lessons she taught through her actions – to work hard, love hard, and care for others will remain with all of us forever.
Mrs. Latrala Flounory Arnold was preceded in death by her father, A.C. Flounory; her brother, Flint Flounory; her sister, Inez Flounory; and her daughter; Bridget Flounory.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving and devoted husband of over 40 years, Edward Arnold; her mother, Johnnie Mae Flounory; two brothers, Kent Flounory and Willis Flounory of Pavo, Georgia; her son, Jerry (Janet) Flounory of Baxley, Georgia; her daughter, Courtney Flounory of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Elwood (Tasha) Brockington of Thomasville, Georgia; son, Tim (Monica) Arnold of Barwick, Georgia; daughter, Felicia (Stacy) Debruce of Moultrie, Georgia; daughters, Latrice Arnold of Thomasville, Georgia; Natasha Arnold of Cairo, Georgia; mother-in-law, Louise Carter of Pavo, Georgia; sister-in-law, Susie Ann Stewart of Pavo, Georgia; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love and kindness.
Though our hearts are heavy today, we thank God for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her memory, her strength, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in each of us.
Rest peacefully, Mrs. Latrala Flounory Arnold. You were loved beyond words, and your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
