Mr. Michael Taylor was born on March 22, 1957, in Como, Mississippi, to Arthur Taylor and Hattie Mae Taylor. He was raised in a home built on strong Christian values, love, and family. At an early age, Michael accepted Christ and united with Greater Abyssinia Church.

Michael attended Hamilton High School. He later earned his GED, and then proudly joined the United States Marine Corps in 1975.

Michael was the embodiment of strength, resilience, and love for family. As the oldest of his parent’s six children, he carried himself with wisdom, toughness, and a heart of gold. He was an old-school man whose presence naturally commanded respect.


The family will receive friends for a visitation Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4:00pm- 6:00 pm from at R.S. Lewis and Sons Funeral Home 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38128. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 11:30 am at Greater Abyssinia Church. Interment will take place at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125
