Funeral service for Mrs. Ida Delores Stovall English, 89, formerly of Anniston, will be Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Noon at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 233 Vine Street NW, Decatur, Al, where Pastor Daylan Woodall, pastor, and Pastor E. Tramaine Solomon officiating.

Mrs. English passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Mrs. English graduated from Lakeside High School, And later graduated from Anderson Business College, and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 24 years of dedicated service. Following her retirement, she married the late Reverend Pequer "P.Q." English and relocated to Anniston, where she faithfully served alongside him as First Lady of Greater Thankful Baptist Church for many years. Together, they shared 36 years of marriage filled with love, ministry, travel, and cherished family memories.

Mrs. English was known for her warm spirit, generosity, love for people, cooking, gardening, and support of ministry. Following the passing of her husband, she established the P.Q. English Travel Scholarship to assist young ministers pursuing educational opportunities.

Survivors include her children: Cassandra Stovall Thomas (Linwood), Celvia Evonne Stovall, Ceola Francino Stovall, Alesia Stovall Crayton (Darius), and Linzie "Billy" Stovall III (Paula); bonus children: Emma Andrews, Pequer English Jr., Donald "Rod" English (Frankie), Latrenda English Miller (Reginald), and Pamela English Stephney (Larry); a devoted sister: Christine Stone Flakes; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Willie Stone, her husband, Reverend Pequer English; daughter, Linette Stovall Ramey; the father of her children, Linzie Stovall Jr.; and eight siblings.
