At an early age, Betty was widowed and left with the responsibility of being the provider, protector, and peacemaker for her five beautiful children. Despite the many hardships she endured, God still had a plan for her life. Not only did she lovingly rear her own children, but she also played a major role in helping raise her four grandchildren, as well as Bryan and Ellen Cofer and Stacy and Karen New. Betty was loved by many and touched countless lives through her kindness and nurturing spirit.

Mother Betty was a hardworking and dedicated woman who worked faithfully for Mike and Barbara Cofer until her retirement. Her strong work ethic and caring spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

A devoted member of Jones Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Betty faithfully served as the “Mother of the Church” on the second and fourth Sundays for more than 30 years. She worked tirelessly as a missionary, faithfully serving on the Missionary Board as Treasurer, visiting the sick and shut-in, encouraging others through prayer and fellowship, singing in the adult choir, and preparing delicious meals that she loved sharing with family and friends. Her unwavering dedication to the church and her community reflected her deep faith and servant’s heart.
