OPELOUSAS – A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home for Ms. Mary Pearl Richard, 68, who entered eternal rest on Friday, May 22, 2026 at her residence in Lafayette, LA.

Ms. Richard’s memories are being cherished by: her son, Orlando Woods of Houston, TX; her daughter, Meoshia Woods (Michael Awoyemi) of Church Point, LA; two sisters, Pamela Guillory and Phyllis Hebert (John Manning), both of Houston, TX; seven grandkids, Monayshia Woods, Manasjayla Woods, David Awoyemi, Fernella Woods, Sondrea Woods, Fallon Woods and Isaiah Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Elmo and Mary Lee Richard; three brothers, Gerard Richard, Leroy Richard and Darrain Richard; one sister, Gwenda Woods; paternal grandmother, Theresa Bhim; and maternal grandparents, Milton and Mary Jones.
