Joy held many jobs throughout her life, and in each one her servant’s heart was evident. She worked in a school cafeteria while her children were young and later on an assembly line for Motorola in Fort Worth, Texas. After that job ended, she returned to school, became a registered nurse, and served in hospitals, nursing homes, home health, and hospice, touching countless lives.
Teaching others was one of Joy’s greatest passions. She trained CNAs and helped them earn their certifications. She also cared deeply for the young people of her community and volunteered for many years as a youth leader at First Baptist Church of Sunset. After retiring from nursing, she continued serving as a children’s Sunday School teacher in Hemphill, Texas.
Joy will be remembered as a loving mother and caring grandmother. Her faith in the Lord was evident in her life, and her bright spirit touched everyone who knew her.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
