Obituary For Darius (Dee) William Singletary

Darius (Dee) William Singletary departed from this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Raleigh, NC at the young age of 35 years old. He was born on July 22, 1983 in Durham, NC.

He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Lula Dean Brown Singletary, grandfather, David Singletary, and cousin Master Titus Carter Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his fond memory, his mother, Sheryl Denise Singletary; children – Keleah age four and Kayleeanna Denise Johnson age one, and friend Meaghan Johnson of Kenly, NC. His two precious girls were his hearts and he loved them dearly.

Darius is survived by five aunts and three uncles, Patricia Malachi (Carl)-GA, Kathy McClary (Douglas)-NC, David Singletary, Jr. (Irene)-NC, Brenda Singletary-NC, and Pamela Singletary Eludoyin (Rafiu)-MD. He really loved his aunts and uncles but particularly referred to his aunts as “auntie.”

Darius graduated from East Wake High School in Wendell, NC. Darius was self-employed and specialized in his passion…electrical work. Darius traveled all over NC and also traveled to West Virginia. On one trip he was able to view and swim in a breath-taking river surrounded by mountains in WV. He shared a picture of this trip with his mom because he was taken in by the beauty and peacefulness of the landscape. He also enjoyed going to see the classic football games in GA along with the Malachi family and attending the Winston Salem homecoming games with his mom to see the spectacular bands perform.

Darius loved fishing, camping, football, basketball, and baseball. As a child, his mother taught him to play catch in his grandmother’s front yard so he became pretty good at baseball. He also received a trophy for participating on a community baseball team.

Darius loved his children, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral service will be at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1:00 pm, visitation a 12:00 noon.

May the God of Comfort mend our broken hearts during this difficult time. We have confidence in God's Word, the Bible when he says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne said; Look! I am making all things new. Also, he says: Write, for these words are faithful and true". (Revelation 21:4,5) The Malachi Family.

May you find comfort and strength in knowing that God loves you and he cares for you, through talking to God in prayer, and from God's Word, the Bible. Psalm 36:7 says: "How precious your loyal love is, O God! In the shadow of your wings, the sons of men take refuge". Nahum 1:7; God "is a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 62:7,8; 2 Corinthians 1:3,4) Sorry for your lost Irene Singletary
