Obituary – Jackie Tracy Takeall

Jackie Tracy (Boobie) Takeall was born May 4, 1967, to the proud parents of the late Jake Takeall and Josephine Takeall.

Jackie attended the John Vianne primary school in the Bronx, NY. He also attended the Montessori School. Jackie graduated from Stevenson High School in the Bronx, NY. He later attended Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Jackie was baptized at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church on the first Sunday in April 1981 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Mannie L. Wilson. Jackie was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 711 at the Convent Church. He rose to the position of Life Scout. Jackie was a member of the Baptist Youth Fellowship (BYF). This ministry reached out to help young people. Jackie felt glad that Deacon Pierson sponsored him and others to attend the Lott Carey Convention during their high school years. Jackie considered Deacon Pierson to be one of the greatest spiritual leaders he had ever known. During his time as Teacher, Pierson would call your house if you missed two of his Sunday School lessons. Jackie and his brother Rossie admired Deacon Pierson.

It was at Convent Avenue Baptist Church on Boy Scout Sunday, February 10, 1985, that Jackie also known as Boobie met the love of his life, Andrea Michelle Collins. They wed on June 12, 1997 in the Bronx, NY. They were married for 28 years. From this union, two sons, Joshua and Josiah were born.

During his teenage years, Jackie worked under the supervision of his mother in the Tuition Department at Teacher’s College at Columbia University.

One of Jackie’s goals was to become an entrepreneur. He accomplished this goal with help from his Father. The name of his business was Jack’s Messenger Service.

Jackie Tracy (Boobie) Takeall answered God’s call on Friday evening, May 1, 2026 at 8:48 P.M. at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Standing by his bedside was his mother, Josephine Takeall and some of his cousins. He peacefully slipped away while cousin Zakiyyah was reading Psalms 91, 92 and 93.

Those left to cherish and appreciate Brother Tracy’s memory are his lovely wife, Andrea Michelle, his children: Joshua, Josiah, Gabriel and Samantha.his mother, Josephine Takeall. his brother, Rossie Takeall, his sister, Shelia Black, his mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Collins,his sister-in-law, Maria Charleton (Dave),his brothers-in-laws, Joseph Brown and Elijah Prioleau. Four great aunts: Ileasa Mazyck, Mercides Mazyck, Ethel Gathers, and Clara Brown. Aunts: Mildred Alston, Richard Jean Alston (Samuel), Pauline Takeall, Rose Brown, Vivian Morant (Rhonnie). Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and his beloved community.
