Mr. Arthur Junior Hope

Passed 06/05/2026

Mr. Arthur Junior Hope (Cuda) willingly answered the call from his Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2026. Arthur transitioned peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, listening to one of his favorite groups, Lee Williams,” I Can’t Give Up Now.” He was the firstborn Arthur and Lenase Hope, born in High Point, NC, on July 23, 1970.

Arthur confessed in Christ at an early age and grew into a Godly man who walked with purpose. He grew up in Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. E.J. Love. He was a drummer in the gospel group, Gospel Highlights. He was an avid music lover. Later, he joined Sound Cathedral Ministry, where he participated in the men's ministry under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie L. Walker.

He graduated from High Point Central, Class of 1989. After graduating from High School, he started driving trucks. He spent many dedicated years in the trucking industry, where his work ethic and reliability earned him admiration from colleagues and community members alike. His trucking career included working for Furnitureland South, Averitt Express, and Coca-Cola. He drove trucks until his health began to decline in 2018.

Arthur made sure his mother and family were taken care of. Family was the heartbeat of Arthur’s life. He cared deeply for his mother, siblings, and nieces, pouring into them with a steady, dependable love. His life was a testament to loyalty, humility, and the power of being there fully, quietly, and consistently. Arthur enjoyed spending time with family, frying fish and chicken, and watching sports. Arthur was always encouraging others, and even during his sickness, he continued ministering to others. He would light up a room when entering. He never met a stranger. He was kindhearted and went without making sure others had. He never complained about what he was going through. He never gave up, and every day he woke, he would say, “Another day GOD woke me up, and has kept me, I’m not giving up.”

He is preceded in Heaven by his Father, Arthur James Hope, Jr, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He leaves behind a loving mother and caretaker, Lenase Hope; a sister, Elizabeth Collier (Darryll) of Thomasville, NC; a brother, Richard Hope (Daphne), of High Point, NC; nieces, Jaikyla Hope, Aaliyah Byers, and Aniyah Southerland; bonus sisters, Latoya Wall, Jamie Bailey; bonus brother, Samuel Hairston; aunts, Doretha Bildon of Dillon, SC; Senter Bethea, Katie Hope, Elizabeth Gooden, and Maryann Thomas all of High Point, NC; Shirley Cook of Florence, SC; Carolyn Williams of New York and Chrisie Hamer of Cheraw, SC; uncles, Doug Hope (Patricia) of Trinity, NC; Ted Alfred of Hamer, SC; a special cousin, Ervin Alford of Dillon, SC as well as many other special cousins and friends too numerous to name.
