Elwood P. Tomlinson

July 27, 1937 – June 7, 2026

Elwood P. Tomlinson, 88 of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026. He served four years in the Air Force and worked in the commercial transportation field for many years. He has been retired for many years and has been very active in the church for most of his life.

Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Dorothy Tomlinson, brother, David Tomlinson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Frances Goins Tomlinson. Sister, Jane Coble. Daughter, Jessica Wilson (Daniel) Rock Hill, SC. Grandchildren, Hunter Costales (Brittany), Rock Hill, SC, Allyson Cauthen (Jake) Ladson, SC, Owen Wilson, Rock Hill, SC, Bailey Costales, Rock Hill, SC.Great Grandchild, Jayce Cauthen, Ladson, SC. Many very special nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling, and loved sports. He was a life-long Atlanta Braves fan.

Most importantly, he was a born-again Christian who loved attending church and he was a deacon for many years.

Visitation will be held on June 12, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC, and 1947 Old Friendship Road from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Providence Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC in honor of Elwood Tomlinson.
