Mrs. Lizzie Ruth Rose Crawford, age 67, of Valdosta, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 27, 2026.

A Time to Be Born: (Ecclesiastes 3:2)

Lizzie was a woman whose joyful spirit, caring heart and compassionate nature touched the lives of everyone blessed to know her. Her radiant laugh could light up any room, bringing comfort, warmth, and happiness to family, friends, and even strangers.

A Time to Serve:

Lizzie was a devoted woman of faith who deeply loved studying God’s Word and minister and serving as youth director. Her life reflected kindness, encouragement, and unwavering love for others. She faithfully attended and served at First Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church and Silver Run Missionary Baptist Church, where she found immense joy in worship, fellowship, and serving the Lord.

An entrepreneur by profession Lizzie, carried a strong work ethic (owner of Liz Typing), Pentagon, Washington, DC with determination throughout her life. Outside of her work, she enjoyed basketball and baseball and was especially gifted at singing. He sang with Sister Lee & the Gospel Inspirators. One of her favorite songs was “Praying Time,” a song that beautifully reflected her faith and devotion to God.

Unity In Marriage:

Lizzie shared thirty-nine beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Alfred Crawford, a union built on love, faith, commitment, and family. Together they created a life filled with cherished memories and lasting love.

A Time to Mourn:

Lizzie leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband, Alfred Crawford; and a son, Derrick Crawford, a union built on love; her dear siblings, Janie Rose White, Reverend Dr. Booker T. Rose Jr (Gloria)., Wanda Rose, and Ricky Taylor, along with a host of nieces and nephews: Laquanna L. White, LaWanna N. White; nephews: the late Kenneth J. Rose, Rev. Bernard T. Rose, Quentin L. Rose (Pat), Evangelist Kyle Lee (Barbara), Garnett Hyde(TJ) , Adrian Smith, Brian Lee (Tina), and extended family members, church family, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Lizzie’s faith carried her home to eternal peace. Her life was a shining example of love, compassion, and devotion to Christ.

The family finds comfort in the words of her favorite scripture, Psalm 23:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul…”

Lizzie’s beautiful spirit and loving legacy will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.


Funeral services were Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, Georgia with her brother Reverend Dr. Booker T. Rose, Jr. officiating. Burial followed at the First Elizabeth Cemetery in Grooverville, Georgia.
