MR. JAMES ELLIS COVINGTON, age 85, of Oakboro, North Carolina peacefully departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Hospice of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, North Carolina.

The Homegoing Services will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 1:00pm, Greater Grace Community Baptist Church, Marshville, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.

The Covington Family will greet family and friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 12:00-1:00pm at Greater Grace Community Baptist Church.

The public viewing will be on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 12:00-4:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
