Mrs. Daisy Mae Cobb Burton, departed this life on June 14, 2026 at the age of 60. Daisy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend whose kindness, faith, and love touched the lives of many.
Born on October 31, 1965, in High Point, NC she was the daughter of the late Joe and Sadie Rogers Cobb. Throughout her life, she was known for her wittiness and charm. She always knew how to make you laugh.
Daisy accepted Christ at an early age. In 1972 The Junior Tommiettes Gospel Singers was formed where she was one of the lead singers. The group traveled throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia singing the songs of Zion. One of her favorite songs was” I’ve Decided To Make Jesus My Choice”.
Daisy graduated from High Point Central High School class of 1984. After high school she went to work for Patrician Furniture where she met the love of her life. On May 5, 1989 she married Mr. James Burton.
Daisy loved life. She would do whatever she could to make life easier for those she loved.
Daisy is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Rev. Danny Rogers Sr., Floyd Cobb, Joe Jr. Cobb, and Curtis Cobb; two sisters, Mary Ann Rogers, and Mina Wilson. Maternal grandparents, Sim and Sarah McCray Rogers; paternal grandparents, Jim and Daisy Cobb.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 37 years, James Burton of the home; two sons, DeMorris Cobb (Tymisia) of High Point, NC and Antonio Burton of the home; one daughter, La’Sheika Davis (Charnette) of Thomasville, NC; four sisters; Annie Rogers, Margaret Rogers, Mary Cobb, and Debra Cobb all of High Point, NC; three brothers; Rev. David Cobb (Lumia) of Thomasville NC, Melvin Cobb, and Ricky Cobb (Harriett) both of High Point, NC; mother-in-law, Sandra Burton of Thomasville NC and father-in-law, James Maske of Charlotte NC; two sisters-in-law, Keesha Burton of Thomasville, NC, and Teresa Maske of Atlanta GA.; one brother-in-law, Rodney (Tiffany) Maske of Atlanta GA, one aunt, Mary Ware of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren; Khalyn, Khasyn, J’niyah, Damiyah, D’Ayla, Demorris Jr. and Savion; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 831 Leonard Avenue. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
