MR. DONY MAURICE SUTTLES - Age 74, of Dalton, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1951 to the late Robert Paul Suttles and Hazel Clements Suttles in LaFayette, Georgia. He graduated from LaFayette High School Class of 1969. Dony was a former member Mount Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette and a faithful member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, a United States Air Force Veteran and was Honorably Discharged. He shared his singing talents with The Faithful Five and The Gospel Songbirds. He formerly worked for the United States Postal Service and retired from the Insurance Industry. Dony was preceded by his siblings, Minister Paul (Judy) Suttles, Patricia Brabson, Deacon Gene (Barbara) Suttles, Robert Carl Suttles, sister-in-law, Deloise Suttles, and other family members.

Precious loving memories will remain with his wife of twenty-five years, Mary Lee Willis Suttles; three daughters, Diana Shropshire, Bridget Suttles, and Tarina Bethea Suttles; stepsons; grandchildren, great grandchildren; siblings, Reuben (Ann) Suttles, James LaBron Suttles, Sr., Margaret (Jimmy) Blalock; brother-in-law, William J. (Joyce) Willis, Jr., sisters-in-law, Minnie Willis Marsh, Myra Salters, Jennifer Austin; aunts-in-law, Leone Nelson, Geraldine Pero; nieces, nephews, cousins; other extended family, friends, devoted classmates, and his church family. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 2:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles D. Catchings as Eulogist and Elder Wade Broome as Presider. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 A. M. Interment, Naomi Cemetery, LaFayette, Georgia. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
