Obituary: Lorita Marie Grandberry, affectionately known as "Fat Girl" by those who knew and loved her, departed this life on June 4, 2026. Born on June 22, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank and Lorita Grandberry, Lorita was a woman full of life, laughter, and love. Lorita loved spending time with family and friends and was often the life of the party. She dedicated her life to God at an early age and found great joy in attending church and singing, especially gospel and Christmas songs. Known for her bold personality and generous spirit, she never met a stranger and had a way of making those around her feel welcomed. She also expressed her love through cooking, and her baked macaroni and cheese became a favorite among family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Shakyra Grandberry. Lorita leaves to cherish her memory her children, LaToya Eubanks, Jasmine Eubanks, Clay Buchanan, Davon Grandberry, and Arvell Grandberry; her father, Frank Grandberry (Jean); her sisters, Kimberly Walters, Lesha Grandberry, and Joyce Grandberry; her brothers, Frank Grandberry Jr., Maurice Grandberry, Tim Hicks, and stepbrother Jonah Harding; her ten cherished grandchildren; two special friends, Cornelius Singletary and Stanley Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Lorita's vibrant spirit, unforgettable personality, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
