Wardell Askew Sr, 76, of Memphis, TN passed away on June 15, 2026 at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Wardell was born on February 24, 1950 to Robert Askew and Ruthie M Strong in Sarah, Mississippi. He married Vonzella (Malone) Askew.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 26, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00am both will be held at Friendship Church of the Nazarene 775 North Pkwy Ave, Memphis, TN 38105.

Burial will take place in Askew Grove Baptist Church Cemetery 521 Longtown Rd, Sarah, MS 36821
