James Moss, age 98, of Warren County, departed this life on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his residence in Roanoke Rapids.

Mr. Moss leaves behind a legacy of memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. During this time of loss, the family asks for your prayers and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:30 am in the chapel of Boyd & Royster Funeral Services, the Reverend Catherine Harris will officiate, burial will follow in the Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

James leaves, not to mourn, but to cherish his precious memories: three loving step- daughters: Lina Harris (Larry) of Henderson, NC, Barbara Jones Miles (John) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Betty Jones (Gary) of Glen Burnie, MD. One brother-in-law Willie Christmas (Barbara) of Garner, NC, one uncle, Joseph Burnett (Jackie) of Warrenton, NC; ten step-grandchildren; sixteen step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will truly miss him.
