It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Derrick Kayin Harrell.

Derrick Kayin Harrell, age 43, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Born on November 1, 1982, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, Derrick was the beloved son of Deacon Bruce E. Harrell and Dr. Claudette Harrell.

Derrick was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School and furthered his education at the Aviation Institute, Casselberry, Florida, where he graduated Cum Laude. His dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence were evident in every endeavor he pursued.

Derrick's presence brought comfort and stability to those around him. His character reflected the values of faith, compassion, and service that were instilled in him from an early age, leaving a lasting impression on family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving parents, Deacon Bruce E. Harrell and Dr. Claudette Harrell; his devoted siblings, Angel Tavonna Collins (Lavon), Sanford, Florida; April Yolanda Johnson (CJ), Tampa, Florida; and Dexter Alexander Harrell, Sanford, Florida; a special niece, Taniyah Eva Belle Johnson, three (3) special nephews, Jalen Lavon Collins, Jayce Noah Collins, and Christian Lorenzo Johnson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, church family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his presence.

Memorial services will be 11 AM, Sat., June 27, 2026, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
