Felicia Ann Newsome was born in Brooks County,Georgia on March 7, 1979, to Betty Jean Bartee-Newsome and the late Jessie James Newsome.

She departed this life on June 7, 2026.

She was educated in the Brooks County School system, with the class of 1998. Felicia was a woman of Faith, compassion, and service whose life was dedicated to helping others. For more than 20 years, she worked in childcare, nurturing, and caring for countless children in her community.

She faithfully served her church, the House of God Church, where she was a member of the choir and a dedicated cook who helped prepare meals and support church activities. In the late 90s and early 2000s she worked as a CNA providing compassionate care to residents at The Presbyterian Nursing Home and later at PruittHealth-Parkwood. Felicia was also known for her talent as a hairstylist. She often did hair for family, friends, and community members, making sure her services remained affordable for those in need.

Felicia Ann Newsome was preceded in death by her grandparents, James Bartee, Sr. and Essie Mae Gosier-Bartee, Carl Newsome and Lucille Fulton- Newsome.

She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving mother, Betty Newsome-Bartee, her beloved children, Bre’Asha Williams-Davis (Terrence) of Atlanta GA, Jaymonte Newsome (TravTanasia); four sisters, Debra Mitchell, Joyce Newsome, Betty J. Newsome and Jovan Newsome; five brothers, Jesse Newsome (Carol) of Covington, GA, Johnny Newsome (Latoya), Colia Newsome, Anthony Newsome, and Tyrone Newsome all of Quitman, GA; three grandchildren, Kinslee Williams-Davis, Jaymonte Newsome, Jr., and Tianna Newsome; a beloved best friend, Latoya Mason (Kendrick); also a host of special friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2026 4P.M. - 7P.M. at Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.


Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3P.M. at Shumate Church of Christ, 108 Shumate Street, Quitman, GA 31643. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1692 Adel Hwy., Quitman, GA 31643. Visit this website to view a livestream of the celebration.
