Willie Clyde Hill, affectionately known as “W.C.,” was born on April 17, 1938 in Barney, Georgia, to the late Alvin Hill, Sr., and Vinnie Alice Hill. He peacefully departed this life on June 4, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and love that touched countless lives. W.C. joined Rocky Mt. Zion AME Church at an early age. He attended school in Barney, Georgia, where he grew up surrounded by family, friends, and a close-knit community that helped shape the remarkable man he was. W.C. never met a stranger. Whether he had known someone for years, or had just met them moments before, he greeted everyone with the same familiar phrase, “Hey Good Ol’ Buddy, Hill my name from Barney, Georgia.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alvin Hill, Jr., and his sister-in-law Noble Jean Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his sister, Alberta Hill of Valdosta, Georgia. His nieces and nephews: Chandra Hill, Alvin Hill III, and Philbert Hill of Amarillo, Texas. A host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A special and heartfelt acknowledgement is reserved for his devoted caregiver and beloved cousin, Gwanda Irvin, whose unwavering love, compassion, and dedication provided comfort and support throughout his later years.

W.C. was also known for proudly reminding those around him that he had “done his part” - a phrase that he often shared with a smile, and indeed, he truly had that.

His legacy will continue to live on through the many family members, friends, neighbors, and “Good Ol’ Buddies,” who were blessed to know and love him.
