Kenneth Lamont Sherene Jr., 61, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 18, 2026, at UPMC in Seneca, Pennsylvania. Kenneth was born on July 28, 1964, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the union of Kenneth Sr. and Dorothy Greer Sherene, He was also reared and nurtured by his stepmother Mariam Sherene. Kenneth spent part of his childhood in Franklin, Pennsylvania, before relocating to Corsicana, Texas, where he graduated from Corsicana High School.

During his high school years, Kenneth distinguished himself as an exceptional football player. His talent, determination, and leadership on the gridiron helped lead his team to state championships. He received accolades in recognition of his outstanding athletic accomplishments. His athletic prowess was legendary and unparalleled. He was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 1983 State Championship team.

Following high school, Kenneth eventually returned to Pennsylvania, but made his home in the Youngstown area, Pittsburgh and ultimately settled in Meadville PA. He had a larger-than-life personality and his Youngstown family meant everything to him.

Kenneth was self-employed, finding success in flipping houses and property management. He took exceptional pride in transforming homes and neighborhoods through his vision, hard work and craftsmanship.

Known affectionately as a big teddy bear, Kenneth had a heart to match. He was deeply devoted to his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. He was also a lifelong, passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed cheering on his favorite team.

Kenneth leaves cherished memories embraced by his beloved father, Kenneth Sherene Sr.; devoted stepmother, Miriam Sherene; children, Kierra (Brandon), Alexis, Robert "Issac," Montavia (James), Juliyen, Qwa'Mae, and D'Iyla; and sisters, Maureesa Sherene and Tina Sherene.

Kenneth’s legacy will be sustained by his beloved grandchildren, Rylee, Malacai, Braylon, Brixton, Zaylynn, and Aurora; nieces Haley (Tyrus), Krissi, Zakhalya, Zahlayla, Zahniyla, and nephew, Hamilton, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, close friends, and countless others whose lives were touched by his kindness and generous spirit. A compassionate and caring soul, Kenneth, will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Dorothy Greer Sherene; maternal grandparents Rosalee and Titus Greer, cherished twin son, Qwa'Maeil; and his longtime companion, Tammy, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

Kenneth will be remembered for his infectious smile, warm embrace, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he brought wherever he went. His strength, generosity, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In honor of Kenneth’s life and contributions, the Sherene Family invites all those who have been touched by his kindness to celebrate his enduring legacy. At 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, there will be a public viewing & family visitation at New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert Street, Youngtown, OH. The Celebration of Life services will begin at 11:00 AM. After a committal ceremony, Kenneth will laid to rest upon the rustic meadows of Tod Homestead Cemetery.
