Betty Virginia Reddick Thaxton "Betty Anne" was born in Pottstown, PA. She was born the third child to Hilton and Florida Reddick. She received her formal education in the public schools of Pottstown, PA.
Betty adored her family deeply. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She was very caring, loved helping other people. She loved committing her time and services at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
She loved to cook, feed and shower everyone around her with love. She loved music and dancing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Betty Virginia "Betty Anne" Thaxton transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hilton Reddick; her mother, Florida Reddick; her sons, Tyrone Thaxton and Harold Thaxton, Jr.; her granddaughter, Tyshawn Cleveland; her brothers, Raymond and James Reddick; her niece, Tiffany Holmes; her nephew, Ryan Reddick and Goddaughter, Tracie Hill.
Betty is survived by her husband, Harold Thaxton, Sr.; her oldest daughter, Tracey and son-in-law, Durrell Pollard; her son, Jermaine Thaxton; her youngest daughter, A'lice Thomas; her bonus daughter, Monique "Nikki" White; her sisters, Elenora Reddick, Linda Tucker and Loretta Reddick; her brothers, Joseph, Karl and Jerome Reddick; her 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her God-daughter, Aisha Brown; her God-son, Alphonso Arrango; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she adored dearly.
Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 in the Sanctuary of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 N. 17th Street, Harrisburg with viewing and visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
