OPELOUSAS – Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Church of Christ at Northside, 9026 Hwy 182, Opelousas, LA for Ms. Willie Mae Porter, 79, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA.

Brother Jawasiki Parker will be officiating the funeral service.

Ms. Porter’s memories are being cherished by: one son, Nathan Porter of Port Allen, LA; two bonus sons, John (Marie) Smith of LaPlace, LA and Ricky Narcisse of Port Barre, LA; one daughter, Karen Bell (Samuel); two bonus daughters, Jeanell Simpson and Janice Narcisse, both of Opelousas, LA; three brothers, Leroy Porter and Harry (Ameenah) Porter, both of Baton Rouge, LA and Earnest (Virginia) Porter of Port Allen, LA; five sisters, Wanda Ventress and Thelma Brown (Robert), both of Baton Rouge, LA, Linda Gail Dents (Calvin), Carla Alexander (Carl) and Elouise White, all of Port Allen, LA; a special friend, Joseph Kenry Narcisse; six grandchildren, Kenyetta White-Brown (Ronanthony), Rashad Collins, Jarmeshia Collins, Kyrese Collins, Samantha Lewis and Brandon (Bree) Crawford; fourteen great grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her mother, Velma Porter; three sisters, Helen Brown, Rosa Lee Franklin and Alice Jean Northern; and two aunts, Rebecca Porter and Olevia Randolph.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Northside Church.
