Laura Stafford, 68, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. Born on February 20, 1958, in Barbados, Laura later made her home in Durham, North Carolina, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Laura was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Charles Stafford. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Sabrina Redden, Lauriel Hewitt, and Christopher Stafford. She found immense joy in being a grandmother to Micaela Devonish, Da’Mya Washington, J’Zariya Stafford, Malik Washington, Kristina Stafford, and Kareem Stafford. Her family was the greatest blessing of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Laura was one of ten children and shared a lifelong bond with her brothers and sisters. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings: Cecile Hewitt, Maureen Hewitt, David Muhammad, Esther Hewitt, Charmaine Hewitt, and Margaret Hewitt. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Coralene Brewington, Samuel Hewitt, and Marlene Hewitt.

A woman of unwavering faith, Laura faithfully served as a missionary at Deliverance Cathedral of Love Church. She lived her life with compassion, kindness, and a servant’s heart, always willing to encourage others, share God’s love, and lend a helping hand to those in need. Her strong faith was evident in the way she lived and inspired everyone who knew her.

Laura will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, unwavering love, and steadfast devotion to God, her church, and her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, and selfless service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Charles Stafford; her children, Sabrina Redden, Lauriel Hewitt, and Christopher Stafford; her cherished grandchildren, Micaela Devonish, Da’Mya Washington, J’Zariya Stafford, Malik Washington, Kristina Stafford, and Kareem Stafford; her siblings, Cecile Hewitt, Maureen Hewitt, David Muhammad, Esther Hewitt, Charmaine Hewitt, and Margaret Hewitt; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and her cherished church family at Deliverance Cathedral of Love Church, who will forever treasure her memory.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, 10:00 am at Deliverance Cathedral of Love located at 1705 Curtis Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Durham
