Mrs. Minnie Thompson Myers

Mother Minnie Myers was affectionately known to those who adored her as “Pity” or “Ms. Minnie.” She was born to the late Walter Thompson and Daisy Grice Thompson. After losing her father at an early age she was reared by her step-father, Nelson Grice Sr. in Sellers, South Carolina. She gained her new perfect body on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the McLeod Hospice House, Florence, South Carolina with loved ones. She was also greatly loved by her grandmother, Fannie Mae Thompson, “her sunshine.”

Mother Myers was educated at Latimer School in Latta, South Carolina. She was quick to learn and full of wisdom. She was an obedient child and was very anxious to learn. She later moved her family to Queens, New York.

Mother Myers was preceded in death by her daughter: Mary Myers Hamlin; her brothers: Wesley Thompson, Lewis Thompson, Marvin Grice and Nelson Grice Jr.

Mother Myers leaves to adore and cherish her beautiful life and cherish her wonderful memories ~ her husband of sixty-one years: Bishop James Myers Sr.; sons: Bishop James (Henrietta) Myers Jr., Johnnie (Marilyn) Myers, Jobie (Doris) Myers, Michael (Lillian) Myers, Daniel (Stephane) Myers, Steven (Felicia) Myers; her beloved god-sons: Fred Jones, Melvin Godbolt, Ronnie Godbolt; three daughters: Sharon (Ronald) Sherman, Kenya McLeod, Gwendolyn Johnson; her most loving brothers: Walter (Gloria) Thompson, David (Sheila) Grice, Willie (Sandra) Grice and Johnny (Flo) Grice; as her own: Priscilla Brown, Rebecca Brown, Tanya Alford; two beloved sisters: Sarah Godfrey and Mary McInnis and a host of other relatives and friends.
