Bobbie Jean Core, the daughter of Mrs. Charlie Bell Horton Floyd and the late Mr. Gene Floyd, was born January 10, 1971, in Lee County, Alabama.
Affectionately known as “BJ” by her family and friends, graduated from Smith Station High School. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and cherished her faith. She found great joy in fishing, gardening, and shopping. BJ loved spending time outdoors and had a special talent for sewing and crocheting. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, the love she shared with others, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, she departed this life at her home in Opelika, Alabama. She was preceded in death by: one brother, Jody Floyd.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Ricky Core of Opelika, AL; two children, Casey Alexander Core and Shalaundra Core both of Opelika, AL: mother, Charlie Bell Floyd of Opelika, AL; two grandchildren, Harmony Lockhart and Destiny Ware both of Opelika, AL; one sister, Christine Floyd of Opelika, AL; one uncle, Lummy Horton of Smith Station, AL; four sisters-in-law, Calvie Barnett, Barbara Core both of Salem, AL, Sonjia Core and Stephanie (Douglas) Jones both of Opelika, AL; one brother-in-law, Forrest Core, Jr. of Opelika, AL; a devoted friend, Dorothy Smith of Hurtsboro, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
