Charisse Loretta Johns of Montgomery, AL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026. She was born in Seminole, Oklahoma to Dr. Calvin R. Johns, Jr. and Annette Marie Johns (Reeves) on September 7, 1958. Charisse lived the majority of her life in the Washington, D.C. area before she returned home 12 years ago. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Annette Chapman (Clifton Knight), sister, Janice Johns Boyd (Steven Boyd) and brothers, Dennis, Calvin III, Mark, and Clark Johns (Elna Johns).

A celebration of Charisse’s life will be hosted at King's Canvas, 1413 Oak Street Montgomery, AL 36108 on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 am. The celebration will be preceded by an art gallery viewing showcasing works by Charisse and other local artists at 9:00 am. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors.
