Funeral service for Mr. William Anthony “Bopete” Johnson will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel 307 S. Johns St., Florence.Interment will follow in Carter’s Cemetery directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

William was born on December 11, 1961 to the late Carranza Johnson and Rosa Lee Ashley Johnson in Effingham, SC. He died on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

Bopete as he was affectionately called attended the Public School in Florence County and was employed with Honorage Nursing Home in Florence, SC until his health declined.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Johnson; five children, Tameka Johnson, Natasha (Tyrone) Davis, Bennie (Rita) James, Bryan James and Marcus James; sixteen grandchildren; one brother, Mikel Johnson; one sister, Redda (James) McGee; three nephews; four nieces; a host of other relatives and friends.
