It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clyde William Thomas Sr., who departed this life on July 13, 2026. Clyde was born on November 1, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the union of Bill Thomas and Emma (Gardener) Thomas and lived a life rich with experience, hard work, and the love of his family.

Clyde was a simple man with a heart of gold, known for his generosity, and unwavering support for his loved ones. He was a no-nonsense guy, laid-back yet incredibly straightforward- in essence “Don’t’ start none and there won’t be none!” as he embodied the wisdom of a man who lived life on his own terms.

With a deep passion and appreciation for artists such as the Chi-Lites, the Stylistics and Blue Magic music, Clyde was also an outstanding vocalist, often found harmonizing with friends on street corners, back in the day, bringing joy to everyone who stopped to listen.

Clyde, a dedicated supervisor of laborers in the recycling industry, spent many years at LAS Recycling, where he played a pivotal role in the reuse of plastics and cardboard protecting our environment. He dedicated himself to the betterment of his community, not limited through his work experience, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Clyde's love for his family, his loyalty to his friends, and his passion for life will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a true Steelers fan, a patriarch of his family, and a man who loved unconditionally.

To his beloved family, Clyde was more than just a provider; he was a source of strength. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Joyce K. Morgan-Thomas, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they raised a beautiful family.

Clyde’s legacy is entrusted to his beloved children, Marco Morgan, Shawnell (Terrance Mackie) Morgan, Clyde (Jennifer) Junior Morgan, Chantell Morgan, Shawnla (Derrick) Anderson and Brittney Kimbrough. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, and they will always remember the love and wisdom he imparted throughout the years.

Clyde’s siblings Stephanie (Jerry) Harvey and Tryone Thomas will retain cherished memories along with his brother-in-law Ronald Morgan. Precious remembrances will be shared by Clyde’s seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a massive score of nieces and nephews.

As Clyde passed the celestial sands, preceding him in eternity were his parents, his sister Vickey Thomas, brother Tony Thomas, niece Latoyia Sow and nephew Jerbrail Harvey.

Friends are invited to pay their respects during the public viewing on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown. The Celebration of Life Services will follow at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Lewis Macklin as the celebrant.

As we gather to remember Clyde, we will reflect on a life that touched so many. His laughter, kindness, and passion for life will forever remain in our hearts. Let us celebrate the legacy he leaves behind and the love he shared with all of us.
