Funeral service for Mamie McKnight, 83, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, 3294 County Road 51, Camp Hill, AL 36850, Reverend Robert Frazier, Pastor, Reverend Sharrod Coleman Officiant and Eulogist.
Mrs. McKnight, who passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Brookdale Senior Living in Columbus, Georgia, was born December 26, 1942, in Chambers County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Friday, July 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. McKnight will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted son, Barry King of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Martha Nell Stringer of LaFayette, AL and Athera Kimble of Opelika, AL; seven nieces, Gwendolyn Finley of Valley, AL, Melanie McKinney of Dadeville, AL, Debra (DeWain) Warren of Birmingham, AL, Jacqueline “Diane” (Frank) Sims of Cleveland, OH, Leslie (Jerome) Evans of Camp Hill, AL, Adrienne Kimble of Nashville, TN and Reena (Nathan) Evans of Opelika, AL; one nephew, Marcus Kimble of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Jan Kimble of Montgomery, AL; four caregivers, Lakitia Greenwood, Deborah Sanders, Wanda Smith and Tykiera Evans; a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of the late Mrs. Mamie Ruth Kimble McKnight acknowledges with grateful appreciation all acts of kindness, prayers, cards, telephone calls, flowers, and words of comfort extended to us during our time of bereavement.
