Asia JeRoan Smalls was born on May 8, 1986, to Mr. Frank B. Smalls III and Mrs. Felicia J. Smalls. Our hearts are broken as we announce her passing on July 20, 2026.
Asia attended Davidson’s Fine Arts School in Augusta, Georgia, where she was accepted for her voice. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, although her shyness prevented her from singing in public. She graduated from George P. Butler Comprehensive High School in Augusta, Georgia, in 2004. Upon graduation, she attended Augusta University and Augusta Technical College. She graduated from Tender Care Nursing School in Augusta, Georgia, as a nursing assistant. Asia’s compassion for others led her to provide private care for many patients. Previously, while employed as a greeter on the front desk at MCG (Wellstar), she was often told that her smile brightened up everyone’s day as they entered the hospital, whether an employee, visitor, or patient.
Asia was a good listener and would lend an ear to former classmates, friends, and family members who needed to talk. She genuinely loved people and would happily offer her assistance to anyone along with an infectious smile. One of her qualities was to forgive quickly, and she was never envious of anyone’s accomplishments; rather, she rejoiced along with them. Asia enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, reading, and cats.
She is survived by a loving family, including her father, Frank B. Smalls, III; mother, Felicia J. Smalls; brother, Samuel C. Kern, III; maternal grandmother, Ruby Smalls; great-aunt, Vernell Green; aunts Toni (Michael) Bradley, Roberta Smalls, Tara Clark, and Stacy Hall; uncles Nathan Jenkins, Lee Arthur Jenkins, Curtis Smalls (Toni), Craig Smalls (Marsha), Michael Smalls, Marvin Smalls, Stanley Clark, Gregory Clark (Joyce); niece, Alexis M. Purvis; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
