Loving Memory of Carl Geter
December 26, 1950 - July 16, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Geter, who
departed this life on July 16, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on December 26, 1950, Carl was the beloved son of Mr. Edward Sam Geter and Mrs. Viola Geter. He was raised with the values of faith, hard work, respect, and love for family, and principles that guided him throughout his life. In 1972, Carl married Vivian Brown, who preceded him in death. Together they built a loving family and were blessed with four children: Shirline Brown, Melissa Geter-
Gibson (Gregory), Walter Donta Geter, and Carla Jones (Anthony). Later in life, Carl
Carl was educated in the Augusta school system. Carl was a dedicated and dependable employee of Delaware Valley Community Health, Inc., where he faithfully served for many years before retiring in 2018. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of his colleagues through his commitment, integrity, strong work ethic and friendly spirit they were dad's second family, and he made sure everyone knew how much he loved Dr. Greta Stewart and all the staff there.
Carl lived a life marked by strength, kindness, and devotion to his family and friends. He was known for his generous spirit, warm smile, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He cherished time spent with his loved ones and created lasting memories that will continue to be treasured by all who knew him.no longer with us, the values he instilled, the lives he touched, the countless conversations, and the memories he
created will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Carl leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother Viola Geter, wife Janielle Newkirk; his children, Shirline Brown, Melissa Geter-Gibson (Gregory), Walter Donta Geter, and Carla Jones (Anthony); Grandchildren, Marquice, Raymond, Bahlil (Kyree), Shaquille, Bashil, Quadek, Layla, Yasir, Jayden, Jmya, Landon, Britney, and Bailee, A Great Grandson Noah, and a God daughter Precious. Uncle Edward Williams (Arlene) Brothers Richard, Frank, and Sister's Brenda, Debbie and Beverly, bonus children, Coley(Nicole), Murrell(Leah), Qianna, Jerrick, Devin and Tiera along with a host of extended family members, relatives, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Grove Baptist Church, 1434 Poplar Street, Augusta, Georgia.
