It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Adams, who departed this life on July 5, 2026, at the age of 70, at the VA Hospital. Gregory was born on March 1, 1956, in the Bronx, New York, to loving parents who both preceded him in death. He lived a life devoted to Christ, his beloved wife, his family, and his honorable service in the United States military. His life was a testament to faith, love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to those he cherished.

As a veteran, Mr. Adams served his country with honor, compassion, discipline, and love. Gregory would travel around the world during his time in service. After his retirement from the service, he came home to briefly live with his mother and siblings.

During that time, Mr. Adams met the love of his life and decided to settle down and start a family of his own. He decided to work in the hospitality field as a way to provide for his family. Gregory Adams was a hard worker and a devoted husband to his wife, Sylvia, and a loving father to his five children: Natasha Jackson, Iris Adams, Kalima Adams, Gregory Adams Jr., and Muslima Adams. He loved his beautiful grandchildren: Tyrone, Amir, Eli, Alijah, and Mia. Gregory Adams learned during his years of service how to persevere through difficult times, but also to turn to his family for moral support when he needed it. He was a private person who preferred to keep his feelings to himself. He did not want to worry his loved ones.

Gregory's devotion to Christ helped instill in him the values of helping others in need, providing for his family, and caring for God's animals. He would spend his free time feeding birds, squirrels, dogs, and cats. He enjoyed spending his days in nature, fishing, and being near bodies of water, where he felt most at peace.

He loved watching classic television shows and nature documentaries. He enjoyed watching a variety of movies, such as westerns, kung fu, comedies, action, sci-fi, horror, and thrillers. He enjoyed spending quality time with his children by watching cartoons with them and allowing them to see his inner child come out. Mr. Adams loved listening to Patti LaBelle and dancing to music with his beautiful wife, Sylvia. His favorite sports team was the New York Mets. Mr. Adams leaves behind a legacy that his family will continue to carry forward. He instilled in his wife and children the importance of having faith, never giving up, always persevering through hard times, helping others in need, and loving one another.

Gregory Adams leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Although his presence will be deeply missed, his love, faith, wisdom, and unwavering strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of compassion, perseverance, and devotion to God and family will serve as a lasting source of comfort and inspiration for generations to come. He will be remembered with love, honored with gratitude, and missed beyond measure.

A funeral service will he held at the Williams Institutional CME Church on August 4, 2026 at noon.
