Ms. Ruby Lee Demps was born on December 22, 1944 in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Cornelius Demps II and the late Annie M. Demps.

Ruby departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center Hospice Care.

Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters Mavis Demps and Donnie Mae Jones; four brothers Cornelius II, Willie Mack, Herbert and Sylvester Demps; sisters-in-law Pinkie and Esther Demps; brother-in-law Lanice Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Angela Demps; her son Derek Newsome; one sister Mae E. Garland; two brothers Calvin Demps (Saundra) and Edward Adams; sisters-in-law Bernetha, Agnes and Althoria; brother-in-law James Garland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Home going celebration for Sister Ruby Demps will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Thomas Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
