Obituary For Mrs. Eleanor Wilson

Funeral service for Mrs. Eleanor “Cootney” Lloyd Wilson, 89, will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, April 26, 2019 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church, 307 S. Ravenel St., Florence. Interment will follow in Florence National Cemetery directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Eleanor, the daughter of the late Lena Mae Lloyd and the late Roosevelt Wright was born January 9, 1930 in Mullins, SC. She died on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

She attended the Public Schools in Florence County.

Eleanor was a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church and served on several Church Ministries until her health declined. She was lifetime member of the National Council of Negro Women.

She was employed with McLeod Infirmary and Wentworth Manufacturer. She later became an entrepreneur and the owner of Chase Street Grocery.

Survivors include her son, Charles A. Wilson; daughter and caregiver, Beverly Wilson; a sister, Montez Wright; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.

The family will receive friends 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM at 515 Pennsylvania St., Florence
