Rev. Ethel Mae Anderson Williams is the second daughter of the late Deacon Esco Anderson, Sr. and Evangelist Julia Dukes Anderson. She was born and raised in Albany, Ga. Dougherty County, on December 27, 1949. Her formal education started at the Albany School System, and her advance educational needs from Valdosta State University where she earned a degree in General Studies with a minor in Philosophy, History, and Sociology. While at Valdosta State University she served as a Peer Counselor and a Parent Liaison for the Lowndes County School System. Rev. Williams was called to ministry in September 1986, and she was licensed to Pastor by the A.M.E. Church in 1989. She pastored eight years on the Albany-Valdosta District. Rev. Ethel A. Williams pastored Bethel A.M.E. Church in Ray City, Ga., Woods Chapel A.M.E. Church on the Thomasville Bainbridge District, and she was on the pastoral staff at Grace Victory Church until her passing. Anytime you would see Rev. Ethel Williams at any event, you would know she lived the Christian message. As taught by Jesus Himself to His disciples. Honor the Word in Thought, Word, and Deed; and her motto was “Ministry to God’s People.” Five preceded her in death 3 sisters and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of fifty years Bro. Lewis Williams; She was united in holy matrimony July 10, 1969 and from this covenant four loving children and grandchildren; Del Willams, Sr. (Ricky) and his children; Del Williams Jr., Denecia Williams and Jahiver Williams; Daron Williams and his children; Dominque Williams and Diamond Williams; Rolonzo (Ron) Williams; and Amanda Williams and her son Jaron Williams; she has fond memories of her remaining sisters Debra, Philbert and Olivia; a loving god son Steve Matchett and host of nieces, nephews, sorrowing relatives and friends. From the families of Williams, Anderson and Dukes. Home going service for Rev. Ethel Williams will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Union Cathedral Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vienna Church Cemetery.
