Faye was born May 30, 1959 in Rockingham County to the late Rosa Lee Vernon. She was also raised by the late George and Lillie Mae Vernon. She departed this life Friday, April 26, 2019, at home with her loved ones surrounding around her. She graduated from Madison-Mayodan Sr. High, Madison, NC in 1977 and then furthered her education at Winston Salem State University, Winston Salem, NC where she graduated in 1981. Faye was employed as a Computer Programmer/Analyst for over 40 years. She was very involved as a member of the LBW leaders of Black Women, a member of the local Eastern Stars, National Council of Negro Women (life member & former president). Faye was also a member of the Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma Gamma Rho and also worked as a volunteer in many groups. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and served as a member of the Mass Choir. After moving to Winston Salem she became a faithful member of West Side Baptist Church and was a member of the church choir, where she enjoyed singing. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Francise Fultz and Penny Vernon and brother, Thomas Broadnax. She will be deeply missed by her fiancé; Alan Ellis of the home, father; William “Bill” Broadnax, Sr. of Madison, NC, children; Keith Vernon (Vita), Marie Davis (Julius), siblings; Betty Vernon, Mary Lee Price, George Vernon, Jr., Leon Broadnax, Andre Broadnax, William “Billy” Broadnax, Jr. Grandchildren; Kashayla Vernon, JaZya Shuff, Punch Shuff, Jr., Kharisma Vernon, Cornell Kersey, Jr., Jermaine Murray, Jr., great grandchild; JoZiah Douglas a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
